Brannan Atkinson, President
Atkinson is responsible for day-to-day management and ensuring that the firm stays ahead of rapidly changing trends in communications. He is a talented strategic thinker, an excellent writer, and well-informed about using the Web and social media tools to benefit clients.
Atkinson serves on the board of directors for three Nashville non-profit organizations. Affordable Housing of Nashville, Inc; Safe Haven Family Shelter; and Young Leaders Council.
Before joining Atkinson Public Relations in 1999, Atkinson was in the public information office for the City of Richmond, Virginia for six years, serving as assistant to the city manager for public information. He served as the city’s spokesperson and was responsible for developing public relations campaigns to promote the city’s goals, services, and accomplishments. He worked closely with the mayor, city manager, and other top officials on important issues, including strategic planning, economic development, customer service, and new resident attraction.
Atkinson earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Richmond. He has Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America.
